Our Story

Hi, I’m Tiffany. Between my husband, myself, and my kids, I’ve been cooking for a unique combination of special diets for over 20 years. But when my youngest son was diagnosed with multiple severe food allergies, my life was turned upside-down. I suddenly found myself avoiding many of the most common foods while nursing my allergic child on a top-8-free diet. Still, I was determined not to let food allergies limit my lifestyle. Over time, I discovered several ways to replace the foods I used to love and today my multi-food allergic son enjoys exploring new food options with me while we create together in the kitchen. Now we want to empower your child both in and out of the kitchen with the Chef Free Club!

Our Mission

Chef Free was founded for kids, with special diets and a four-part mission in mind.

Teach Kids Essential Skills

From cooking to label reading, communication, self-advocacy, and social skills, all kids (and especially those on special diets) need to develop a unique savvy in order to become confident in navigating the world of food. Chef Free’s skill tutorials, review games, and activities are designed specifically to teach these skills, as well as to provide other educational gems and supplemental learning opportunities that inspire self-directed exploratory learning, supporting homeschoolers and lifelong learners alike.

Establish a Healthy Relationship With Food

It’s not uncommon for kids on special diets to develop eating anxiety or other psychological conditions such as depression or discouragement, which can lead to an absence of variety in their diets. Chef Free aims to encourage kids to keep trying new foods that are safe for them, developing a healthy relationship with food which can help fight eating anxiety, malnutrition, and more.

Invite Kids to Join a Community

Between birthday parties, social events, and school activities involving food, it doesn’t take much for free-from eating kids to feel excluded. As part of the Chef Free Club, kids will enjoy learning about other real-live kids that manage special diets for a variety of reasons. As their awareness grows, so will their social circle! Club members will get to interact with and meet each other through virtual Chef Free Club activities and have opportunities to share tips and advice with each other.

Motivate Kids to Spread Awareness

Food allergy and other special diet management training has a long way to go among the general public. Through unique challenges and activities included in our kits, kids that are part of the Chef Free club will be empowered with a positive voice for spreading awareness and educating others, preparing the next generation for safety and inclusion of those on special diets.
